Mitra Information Afternoon
Triratna is an international Buddhist community founded in 1968 in the UK by Sangharakshita.
Our Coogee centre is part of this tradition and, in line with Sangharakshita's vision, supports the teachings and practices of the Buddha in a truly contemporary and vital way.
We provide a pathway for anyone wanting to deepen their practice of Buddhism via our mitra (friendship) system and ordination training.
If you feel that meditation and application of the dharma (the Buddha's teachings) is supporting you to live a life of increasing happiness, peace and freedom then you may be interested to come along and hear more about what becoming a mitra (friend) of of our community means.
The basic foundation for becoming a mitra is:
- I consider myself to be a Buddhist
- I like practising in the Triratna context and see it as my ‘home-base’
- I am establishing a meditation practice and aspire to becoming increasingly ethical and kind
Kamalamayi and I will give a presentation followed by lots of time and space for you to ask questions.
There'll be afternoon tea provided.
